About Jordon Cooper

Biography

Hi, my name is Jordon Cooper. I currently live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada with my wife Wendy, son Mark, and dog Maggi. We own a small home in an older area of Saskatoon and recently bought a small rustic cabin a couple hours away from the city that we are fixing up as well.

For income I am the Residential Coordinator of the Salvation Army Community Centre in Saskatoon which means that I manage the main homeless shelter for men in Saskatoon and help out around there in whatever ways they ask me.

I attended Aldersgate College, Horizons College & Seminary and the University of Saskatchewan where I studied theology. I went on to pastor Lakeland Community Church in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, and worked on the staff of Lakeview Church in Saskatoon.

Resonate gets mentioned a lot around the site and it is a network that I founded with friends in 2005. Out of Resonate have grown a bunch of cool projects like Cultivate Gathering, an emerging church documentary, a great place for finding images for worship and the arts, an alternative seminary (coming in 2008 as well), and a lot of people connecting and dreaming up things to do with the emerging church in Canada. Resonate in some ways summarizes what I do best, bring people together of like minds and see what happens.

Along with the contributions to Resonate, I am also a part of the Emergent Village Coordinating Group which does to the chagrin of fundamentalist readers of this site, make me a Friend of Emergent.
